Zsolt Bedak: record, next fight and profile →
Should it turn out to be a battle of left hooks, WBO super bantamweight champion Nonito Donaire, Jr. feels his opponent Zsolt Bedak of Hungary will end up on the receiving end of the Filipino champion’s most potent weapon.
Nonito Donaire and Zsolt Bedak both made weight ahead of their super bantamweight title clash, which takes place Saturday evening at Cebu City Sports Complex in Cebu, Philippines. Both were inside the 122-pound divisional limit. Donaire (36-3, 23KOs) tipped the scales at a healthy 121.75-pounds for his Philippines homecoming, while Hungary's Bedak weighed 121.5-pounds for his second career title challenge.
It's a vastly different look for Nonito Donaire from the last time he fought in the Philippines. The born-again 33-year old Fil-Am star returned to his roots last March following a devastating knockout loss to Nicholas Walters, with the intention of the homecoming simply to get his career back on track.
