The 2021 season premiere of Boxeo Telemundo moves forward without any drama at the scale.

All fighters made weight for Friday’s show, which airs live on Telemundo from Osceola Heritage Park (OHP) in Kissimmee, Florida. Headlining the show, series favorite Yomar Alamo faces Mexico’s Jesus Alberto Beltran in a scheduled 10-round regional junior welterweight title fight.

Alamo (18-0-1, 12KOs) weighed 139 pounds, while Beltran came in right at the 140-pound divisional limit.

While the series returns to OHP, the event will mark the first Telemundo card with fans in attendance since their spring season finale last March 13th in Mexico. Eight straight shows were hosted at OHP following the pandemic, all taking place behind closed doors. Friday’s bill will permit up to 50% venue capacity, in compliance with current state social distancing and health guidelines.

Alamo returns to the ring for the first time in just over a year. The 25-year old prospect from Caguas, Puerto Rico emerged in a 10-round majority decision over Kendo ‘Tremendo’ Castañeda in their battle of unbeaten junior welterweights last Feb. 28th at this very venue.

The upcoming bout with Beltran marks Alamo’s fifth straight at this location and sixth in a row in the greater Orlando area.

Beltran has not fought since July 2019, when he lost a 10-round decision to unbeaten Derrick Cuevas on a Telemundo show from Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Hollywood, Florida. The bout took place at welterweight, with the 32-year old returning to his natural weight for this event.

The main event will air live beginning at 12:00 a.m. ET.
