Wilder Manager Updates on Talks To Fight Ortiz, Joshua, Fury

Last Saturday night at Barclays Center in Brooklyn, Wilder pulled off a crushing first round knockout of mandatory challenger Dominic Breazeale.

After the fight, there was talk of a rematch with Cuban banger Luis Ortiz.

Wilder stopped Ortiz in the tenth round last year, in  wild match that saw he world champion hurt badly in the seventh round.

Finkel is in talks for the Ortiz rematch, but he's also speaking with DAZN executive John Skipper regarding a unification with Anthony Joshua, and with Top Rank regarding a rematch with Tyson Fury.

Finkel is going to be ringside, with Skipper, for Joshua's defense against Andy Ruiz on June 1 at Madison Square Garden in New York City. He says Wilder will not be ringside for the fight.

“No, (Ortiz rumours) not true. That is something we are working on now, hopefully by next week it will be resolved. I had dinner the other night with John Skipper, we discussed the Joshua fight and I also have been in touch with Top Rank," Finkel said to The Sun.

“In the next two weeks everything will be done, it will be said publicly what we’re doing and I believe the UK fans will also be happy.”

“These two fights are too important for the fighters and the sport, they both will happen. When it’s ready a fight will be made, (promoter) Bob (Arum) will make a fight with us, that’s not an issue and we can do something with DAZN also - they are not issues. There is not an issue with DAZN, there is not an issue with making the fight."

"Instead of dictating, dictating, dictating, it’s not going to work. I’ve had a very, very good rapport with John skipper, I believe the fight will happen, I believe the fight will happen with John and I’ll work with Eddie and Barry at the time. I’m going with John (Skipper) to the June 1 fight of Joshua. (Joshua) didn’t come to Deontay’s fight (against Breazeale), he was in New York or around here, so there’s no reason (Wilder) to.”
