Promoter Frank Warren, who handles heavyweight contender Tyson Fury, is still working out the details for a planned rematch with WBC world champion Deontay Wilder.
Last month, the two massive heavyweights fought to a controversial twelve round split draw at Staples Center in Carson, California.
As BoxingScene.com first reported on Monday, the rematch is being targeted for April 27 or May 18 at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York.
The World Boxing Council recently ordered Fury and Wilder to face each other in a rematch.
The sanctioning body set down a deadline of February 5th to get a deal done or go to purse bid.
Warren appears very confident that a deal will get done before the deadline date.
"I spoke on Tuesday morning with Shelly Finkel (Wilder's co-manager) and spoke to him on Monday as well. There are a couple of things that need to be ironed out and if we get them ironed out hopefully we will be in a position soon where we can announce this fight. I am very confident," Warren told Daily Mail.
"Both the boxers want it to happen, everyone involved wants it to happen, but there are a couple of things in the background that need to be sorted out."
While Warren would prefer to have the contest take place in the UK, he realizes that bigger money is found in the United States.
"Tyson went to the States and he got robbed. So he is going there again and he expects to be well looked after to go there. That is where we are at. We would prefer to fight in the UK but we know it generates more income being in America. Where we are at now is we would want to get it on sooner rather than later. He is fantastic shape and chomping at the bit. He is ready to go," Warren said.
