USA Boxing Olympic Qualification: Draw For Strandja Tournament Set

The draw was completed this evening in Sophia, Bulgaria for the 2020 Strandja Tournament, which is serving as the final evaluation process for the 2020 USA Boxing Olympic Qualification Team.

Team USA, which is comprised of 25 boxers, all found out their first opponent of the competition that begins tomorrow morning, 4:00 a.m. EST. 253 boxers from 34 different countries have entered the 71st edition of the historic tournament. A full list of each boxers’ matchups can be seen below.

Competition gets underway tomorrow with three sessions, 4:00 a.m., 8:00 a.m., and 12:00 p.m. Wednesday’s bouts will be divided between three sessions, while Thursday and Friday will be at 7:00 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. Finals will begin on Saturday at 7:00 a.m.

Head Coach Billy Walsh (Colorado Springs, Colo.) will lead the team throughout the week, along with Tim Back (Cincinnati, Ohio), Joe Guzman (Phoenix, Ariz.), Christine Lopez (Rowell, Texas) and Jeff Mays (San Antonio, Texas), serving as assistant coaches.
