Tyson Fury (27-0, 19 KOs) exploded on British heavyweight rival Dillian Whyte, as a war of words erupted on Monday.

Whyte took to social media, where he took shots at both Fury and WBC heavyweight champion Deontay Wilder (40-0, 39 KOs).

This past Saturday night, Wilder and Fury officially announced that a deal had been reached for the two of them to collide in the fall.

Whyte was the WBC's top contender and the sanctioning body asked him to take part in a final eliminator against Luis Ortiz - with the winner becoming the mandatory challenger to Wilder.

Whyte went in another direction, by facing former world champion Joseph Parker last month at the O2 Arena in London.

He believes Fury is likely to withdraw from the Wilder contest - and Whyte is willing to take his place.

"I’ll fight anyone. Tyson Fury, you refused to fight me as I knocked you down so many times in sparring and if you pull out in November with yet another fake injury, I’m more than happy to take your place and smash up that other coward Deotay Wilder," Whyte stated.

Upon getting wind of Whyte's statement, Fury lashed out in kind on social media - tearing apart Whyte for his record and refusal to face Ortiz in a final eliminator.

"Cowards??? It could have been you [facing Wilder],' Fury said. "But someone didn't want to fight the final eliminator vs [Luis] Ortiz, did you coward? So that's why you're not fighting Wilder.

"What have you ever achieved? Oh, I remember, you got sparked by Anthony Joshua for the British title. You should have lost to Dereck Chisora by four points, you ran from Dave Allen all night and you almost got knocked out by Joseph Parker in the twelfth.

"The facts are you're just a dosser for Eddie Hearn, hoping you might get something from the leftovers of Anthony Joshua's plate."
