Unbeaten Tommy Fury has promised to punish Youtube star turned boxer, Jake Paul, when they meet in an eight round cruiserweight bout.
On Saturday, December 18 at the Amalie Arena in Tampa, months of trash talk will finally be settled when they collide in the main event of a Showtime pay-per-view card. The bout will be contested at a 192-pound catchweight.
They were both featured on a Showtime pay-per-view card in August, in Paul's hometown of Cleveland.
Fury (7-0, 4 KOs), the younger brother of WBC heavyweight champion Tyson Fury, opened up the pay-per-view portion of that event with a four round decision win over Anthony Taylor.
And Paul (4-0, 3 KOs) headlined the card, with an eight round decision over former UFC champion Tyron Woddley.
For the first time in his career, Paul will face an actual pro boxer in the squared circle.
His pro debut was a one round destruction of Youtube rival AnEsonGib. He then followed that up with a crushing two round KO of NBA star Nate Robinson. In April of this year, Paul blasted out MMA veteran Ben Askren in one round.
Fury feels very confident in his ability to end Paul's undefeated run n the sport.
“Jake Paul is about to learn a serious life lesson. This is my world, and he doesn’t belong here,” said Fury.
“I’m not one of these MMA men or basketball players, I have been boxing my whole life. On December 18th I will show the world the difference between a YouTuber and a real fighting man. Thanks to my promoter Frank Warren, Most Valuable Promotions and Showtime for giving me the opportunity to shut this clown up once and for all.”
