WBA welterweight champion Keith Thurman does not see any way that Manny Pacquiao will be able to beat him.

Thurman believes Pacquiao, who turned 40-years-old in December, will not be able to to turn back the clock.

Pacquiao's downfall is the long-term pattern of how the sport works, says Thurman.

Pacquiao more or less retired fighters like Oscar De La Hoya, Ricky Hatton, and Lucas Matthysse.

And now Thurman wants to end him.

“I’m very grateful, very happy to be sharing the ring with a legend like Manny Pacquiao,” Thurman said. “But for those who know boxing and truly understand boxing history times change. I believe boxing has come to a new era. Floyd [Mayweather Jr.] is gone. Pacquiao is here. Come July 20 he will disappear.

“I have no intention of losing to Manny Pacquiao. I don’t see him winning any way, shape or form.”

Thurman (29-0, 22 KOs) has warned fans and observers to remove any thought about his last performance, when he broke a two year layoff back in January to win a lackluster twelve round decision over Josesito Lopez.

Prior to that bout, Thurman had not seen action since March of 2017, when he won a twelve round decision over Danny Garcia.

Against Lopez, Thurman was hurt pretty bad during the contest and managed to weather the storm.

“You know that was not the best Keith Thurman that you’ve ever seen,” Thurman said. “Come July 20 you will see one of the best Keith Thurmans that you’ve ever seen.

“I worked hard to be a champion. I’ve always wanted to fight some of the greatest names in the sport of boxing. It’s my first pay-per-view. New territory for me. Not new territory for Manny Pacquiao.”
