WBA 'regular' welterweight champion Keith 'One Time' Thurman (25-0, 21KOs) is days away from defending his title against Luis Collazo (36-6, 19KOs) on Saturday night from the USF Sundome in Tampa, Florida. The match headlines the ESPN debut of Premier Boxing Champions  (PBC).

Thurman makes a four month turnaround after headlining the first ever PBC broadcast, which was carried by NBC on March 7th. That night he won a lopsided twelve round unanimous decision over Robert 'The Ghost' Guerrero at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.

While Thurman is excited with the opportunity to headline the PBC debut on ESPN - he is not overjoyed with the opponent of choice.

Thurman was calling out fighters like Floyd Mayweather Jr., Marcos Maidana, Kell Brook and Amir Khan - but none of those four were interested in facing him.

During the negotiations to finalize this weekend's fight, Thurman was shocked when his managerial team presented him with a single name - Luis Collazo.

Collazo is viewed by a significant portion of the public as a huge underdog, especially given the fact that he's one fight removed from a one-sided beating at the hands of Amir Khan.

In order to stay active, Thurman accepted the opportunity and remains patient that one of his intended targets will fight him in the fall.

"[Collazo] was not on my priority list, but at the end of the day I wanted to stay active and for the first time in my career, when they called me for my next fight, they only gave me one name. Normally I hear a list of names. This time they said 'Luis Collazo will fight you.' I said 'okay.' What else am I going to say? Go find somebody else?' Shawn Porter [was fighting with Adrien Broner]. Amir Khan took another fight," Thurman explained.

"Who did I have to fight this summer? It wasn't what I wanted, but my team and I wanted to stay busy, we wanted to stay active and wanted to keep entertaining the world of boxing. And if this is the man who wanted to sign the dotted line, then this is what it's going to be."
