Terence Crawford To Return in October, on ESPN, Says Arum

By Steve Kim

Coming off his emphatic ninth round stoppage of Jeff Horn to capture the WBO welterweight title Terence Crawford (33-0, 24 KOs) will be taking a summer vacation. But as the leaves turn in the fall, expect him back in action.

"He's coming back in mid-October, I think it's the 13th because we have to schedule him around the (University of)N ebraska football schedule and the building - we want him to fight in Omaha," said his promoter, Bob Arum of Top Rank, to BoxingScene.com.

"So I think the 13th Nebraska is out of town at Northwestern, so that's why we scheduled it there."

Crawford-Horn, which took place this past weekend at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas was streamed on the ESPN+ app and according to the veteran promoter the numbers were - ''through the roof, way, way, way more than they projected. What that means, I don't know because they keep these numbers close because of something with Wall Street and they don't want the numbers released."

Arum says that Crawford's next bout will be on ESPN.

"As big as the draw was on the app it pales by comparison at this point with the linear channel with ESPN. So lets say we do three fights with Crawford a year, two would be linear, one would be the app and the same thing with (Vasyl) Lomachenko."

A component of Top Rank's exclusive deal includes cards that will be broadcast on ABC.

"There will be a small number that we schedule for the linear platform that they'll move to ABC in the similar way that some of the NBA playoff games are show on ABC rather than ESPN,"explained Arum."Just the way for example NBC did it with the hockey with the Stanley Cup."

And would Crawford be a candidate to appear on ABC?

"I assume that to be correct because like everybody in boxing ESPN has zoomed in on Crawford and Lomachenko as the two posterboys."
Prograis is promoted by Lou Dibella! He built his career fighting on PBC/SHO cards! Ramirez just swerved him recently! May 30, 2018: The left-handed knockout artist quickly realized, though, that Ramirez’s handlers had no interest in matching their emerging fan…

Looks like it will be 2019 until we see any of the PBC fighters in the ring with Crawford. Half way into 2018 and there hasn't been much to get excited about.
ProgrIs has nothing to do with Haymon. Nice though. Prograis has the same manager as Alex Saucedo. The bottom line is Haymon doesn’t ever attempt to make fights vs Top Rank Guys. At least arum tried on occasion
Prograis is promoted…
