Sunny Edwards will be back in the ring before the end of the year.
The 23-year-old has a plethora of belts to his name in an already glittering embryonic professional campaign.
Edwards (13-0, 4 KOs) was last in action at Bethnal Green’s famous York Hall venue back in September, exclusively live on BT Sport.
And the talented youngster will return to the same platform ahead of Christmas at the Copper Box Arena in the capital.
He has been confirmed as an addition to his promoter Frank Warren’s ‘The Fight Before Christmas’ card on December 21.
The bill will be topped by Daniel Dubois as the London heavyweight challenges for the vacant WBC Silver title in a defence of his WBO International belt against Japan’s Kyotaro Fujimoto.
Edwards, nicknamed ‘Showtime’, has teased that his opponent has been confirmed and will be revealed in due course.
Boxing Scene understands that Edwards will square off against Liverpool’s English champion at super-flyweight, Marcel Braithwaite, for the vacant British belt and the only thing holding up the announcement of the fight is the British Boxing Board of Control passing ‘The Chosen One’ as a suitable opponent.
Braithwaite, 25, has a record of 9-1 and captured the English crown against Craig Derbyshire back in October when he travelled to the Bonus Arena in Hull and came out on top on points by margins of 95-95, 96-94 and 97-93.
Edwards’ clash with Braithwaite will be flanked by the return of Love Island runner-up Tommy Fury, while there will also be action for Lucien Reid, Archie Sharp and Troy Wiliamson.
Further details and addition to the bill will be revealed in due course.
