Impact Arena, Pak Kret - WBC super flyweight champion Srisaket Sor Rungvisai (47-4-1, 41 KOs) won a twelve round unanimous decision over Iran Diaz (14-3-3, 6 KOs). The scores were 119-109, 120-108 and 119-109.

For Sor Rungvisai, it's his third fight of the year. He started 2018 with a fire fight against his mandatory challenger, Juan Francisco Estrada, and won a twelve round majority decision at The Forum in Inglewood, California.

The Thai puncher then saw action in July, when he came back to home crushed Young Gil Bae in the first round of a non-title fight at Workpoint Studio in Bang Phun.

In recent years, Diaz has won ten round unanimous decisions over former world champions Tyson Marquez and Luis Concepcion. Coming in, he was returning from a three round technical draw with Adolfo Castillo.

The power of Sor Rungvisai was evident from the start, as he came forward and was pushing Diaz back with big shots.

By the fifth round, Sor Rungvisai was mostly digging to the body and had Diaz being very defensive against those punches. Diaz was able to land a few hard head shots, that the champion walked through.

After Diaz made some adjustments in the sixth, Sor Rungvisai wobbled and Diaz in the seventh and was battering his body over and over. Sor Rungvisai continued to have the edge with the harder punches as the contest played out.

In the eleventh, Sor Rungvisai once again wobbled Diaz and was landing a lot of big shots. Diaz was showing a good chin and stayed on his feet. In the twelfth and final round, Sor Rungvisai controlled most of the action - until the closing seconds when Diaz started swinging for the fences, but it was too late.
