Former WBA World bantamweight champion Wladimir Sidorenko has made a decision to leave his promotional company Universum Box Promotions. Like Sergiy Dzinziruk, Wladimir want to move to the United States and to continue his career there. But, as Sidorenko notes himself, it will be easier for him to terminate the contract with Universum, because he doesn’t have a title anymore.
“It will be easier for me to leave than for Sergiy, - explained the Ukrainian boxer to turnir.com.ua. – He is the ruling world champion and they don’t want to let him go. As for me, the process of contract termination will be completed soon. I’m waiting for the letter from my manager. When I get it, I’ll be able to start looking for a new promoter.
Now I’m working on getting an American visa. We plan to fly to the USA together with Dzinziruk. Though he still doesn’t know when he’ll settle his issue with the German promoters. The Germans just ignore him, they neither answer his letters nor accept proposals to meet. That’s why Sergiy entrusted his lawyer with negotiations with Universum. Remember the situation with the Klitschko brothers – they continued to conduct their fights while the court was dealing with their dispute with Universum”.
Sidorenko, 32, became a champion after beating Julio Zarate in 2005. Last year the Ukrainian lost his title in the bout with Anselmo Moreno and this May lost a rematch with him as well.
