By CompuBox - Two years ago Manny Pacquiao vs. Shane Mosley was the next best thing to Pacquiao-Mayweather. Now, in the eyes of most experts at least, it's a glorified mismatch pitting the pound-for-pound king against a 39-year-old who hasn't won in more than two years. Pacquiao is nearly a 7-1 favorite. But in a year filled with upsets -- Rubio over Lemieux Ishida over Kirkland being just the most recent -- the "experts" have been caught flat-footed time and again. Will history repeat itself during Saturday's megamatch? Their respective CompuBox histories offer these clues: A Matter of Styles?: Some blame Mosley's erosion on age, both in terms of chronology and ring wear While being 39 is not ideal for a world-class fighter, part of Mosley's slide must be attributed to Sergio Mora's herky-jerky style and Floyd Mayweather's technical brilliance. "The Latin Snake" and "Money" have made careers out of making others look bad and Mosley was just another victim.
LAS VEGAS -- Shane Mosley will readily admit that he has had trouble with fighters who are rangy, defensive, mobile and capable of matching his speed and boxing skills -- all of which factored into his six losses and the lone draw on among his 53 fights.
When looking back at the career of Erik 'El Terrible' Morales there are countless battles and performances from the Tijuana fighter that stand out. Halting Brooklyn's Junior Jones in a bull ring in Tijuana, three memorable tussles with Marco Antonio Barrera, dominant junior lightweight conquests over Carlos Hernandez and Jesus Chavez all instantly come to mind.
I probably shouldn't get as much satisfaction and enjoyment from pissing another human being off, but I simply can't help it. Whenever smoke appears from Wladimir Klitschko's ears, it makes me howl with laughter and want to wind him up even more.
LAS VEGAS --- When Freddie Roach receives his third straight honor and his fifth overall for Trainer of The Year on Friday night from the Boxing Writers' Association of America, eight-division titlist Manny Pacquiao is not supposed to be in attendence at the MGM Grand Hotel.
This is the same old song and dance for Shane Mosley. In his eighteenth year as a professional and heading into his twenty-first world title fight, the atmosphere surrounding his bout this weekend with WBO welterweight champion Manny Pacquiao is something he is all too accustomed to. Maybe that's why, in going up against the man considered the world's best fighter and being looked at as an underdog yet again, that the Pomona, California star shows no signs of intimidation or fear. In giving his assessment of the 5'6 Pacquiao, Mosley noted that his stature is the last thing he would ever be concerned with as he spoke during today's press conference for his May 7th bout.
LAS VEGAS -- Don't get Manny Pacquiao angry. You would not like him when he's angry.
