LAS VEGAS -- If he's going to dethroned eight-division king, Manny Pacquiao, as WBO welterweight belt-holder on Saturday night at the MGM Grand, five-time titlist Shane Mosley must lure in Pacquiao into trading blows, take advantage of openings that Joshua Clottey did not and make adjustments to compensate for a potential loss of stamina down the stretch, said Mosley's trainer, Naazim Richardson.

LAS VEGAS -- BoxingScene.com polled 16 of the sport's insiders regarding their thoughts on Saturday night's CBS Showtime televised clash betweeen eight-division titlist Manny Pacquiao in defense of his WBO welterweight belt against five-time champion Shane Mosley at the MGM Grand Hotel in Las Vegas.

MGM Grand, Las Vegas - WBA 154-pound champion Miguel Cotto sat down with BoxingScene.com to discuss Saturday's welterweight clash between Manny Pacquiao and Shane Mosley. Cotto has been in the ring with both boxers; winning a twelve round decision over Mosley in 2007 and losing to Pacquiao in 2009 by way of a twelfth round stoppage. Cotto is sitting ringside with an obvious interest in facing the winner at some point in the next twelve months.

LAS VEGAS -- During the months spent training Shane Mosley for his January, 2009, ninth-round knockout that dethroned Antonio Margarito as WBA welterweight champ, Naazim Richardson and the fighter had their first disagreement.

LAS VEGAS - There is a quiet dignity that characterizes Naazim Richardson as he grabs a brief moment of respite at the final media engagement Thursday morning before his charge "Sugar" Shane Mosley faces pound for pound kingpin Manny Pacquiao Saturday night at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.

by Cliff Rold - On March 12, 2005, Manny Pacquiao experienced something for the first and only time since the calendar ventured into the 2000’s. He lost. It wasn’t a bad loss. The victor that night, Erik Morales, was and remains a bona fide Hall of Famer who turned in an incredible performance. With titles in three weight classes, Pacquiao was already the first man in history to officially win the lineal Flyweight and Featherweight titles (it reads officially because it is a feat better scoring could have conveyed to Fighting Harada decades earlier). The Morales loss wasn’t going to keep Pacquiao from Hall of Fame accolades. He’d proven a great enough fighter already to likely secure such honors. Pacquiao has moved well beyond ‘great enough’ since. In thirteen fights since the Morales loss, Pacquiao has won every time, eight times by stoppage.

Manny Pacquiao insists he will not be underestimating Shane Mosley when the two meet in Las Vegas on Saturday night, claiming to have trained harder than ever for the bout.

Freddie Roach has stressed the need for his man Manny Pacquiao to be patient in his WBO welterweight clash with Shane Mosley, but is keen for a knockout win to try and lure Floyd Mayweather Jr into a mega fight with the Filipino.
