Microsoft Theater, Los Angeles - In a battle of undefeated super welterweight prospects, Sebastian Fundora (12-0, 8 KOs), who stands at a freakish 6'7, needed only three rounds to hand Donnie Marshall (10-1, 6 KOs) his first career defeat.
Fundora was last in action back in November, when he knocked out Jeremiah Wiggins in the first round.
Marshall was also in the ring in November, when he won a six round decision over Javier Frazier.
In the first round, Fundora was staying in close and landing the better punches. Marshall was landing counters and being defensive - while looking for openings when Fundora walked in.
Marshall was staying low in the second, and using a lot of head movement to avoid Fundora's uppercuts. But it was still Fundora doing most of the work from minute to minute. Marshall was landing solid counters here and there, with Fundora walking right through them.
Marshall was digging to the body in the third, when an uppercut sent him right down. Fundora jumped right on him, looking for the finish as Marshall was eating a lot of punches. Once he pinned Marshall against the ropes, Fundora unleashed his combinations - which promoted the referee to wave off the contest.
