Former super middleweight and light heavyweight champion Joe Calzaghe retired back in 2009, with his undefeated 46-0 record intact, and the boxing great never took a look back. Many fighters retire every year and eventually return at some point. Even Floyd Mayweather Jr. retired on at least two occasions in the past, only to return to the ring. His third and latest retirement in September is not being taken seriously.

Shortly after his 10th round demolishing of Romulo Koasicha, BoxingScene.com caught up with Vasyl Lomachenko to get his thoughts on the fight. The fight, which was televised by HBO, was very one sided. Lomachenko showed excellent hand speed and footwork that isn't seen very often. The 27-year old from Ukraine revealed that he watched a lot of former pound-for-pound king Roy Jones Jr. as a kid and that is where part of his style may have came from.
I hold my hands up. I did say some time ago that after a few setbacks that Enzo Maccarinelli might be best advised not to fight again, and I have held the same opinion about Roy Jones jnr. But the opportunity has arisen for them to meet in Moscow on December 12 and I certainly don’t blame Enzo for taking it because he really has picked himself up and got himself into great shape with Gary Lockett, now one of the best young coaches in the business. He’s has also collected a handful of decent wins – all inside the distance. But I have to say that if he doesn’t beat the 46-year-old Jones, then it really is time for the likeable Welshman to say thank you and good night, boyo.
Former four division world champion Roy Jones Jr. is not happy with the way most fighters are acting in boxing. He says boxing is now more about fighters trying to earn more money and not about which of them is the best. He doesn't see fighters trying to challenge the best boxers in their division, and instead looking to face whoever makes them the most money. Jones points to WBA/IBF/IBO middleweight champion Gennady "GGG" Golovkin as one fighter who has the right attitude for the sport.
