Rodolfo Orozco: record, next fight and profile →

The welterweight division isn’t the stacked, wall-to-wall assortment of talent it once was, but Nicklaus Flaz seems to be trying to rebuild it one fight at a time.

“I think I can do a lot better now,” Orozco told Jason Langendorf.

Valsaint, a junior middleweight prospect who competed in the Olympics in 2021, will fight Rodolfo Orozco on the May 10 undercard of Erickson Lubin-Ardreal Holmes Jnr.

Ringside in Philadelphia this weekend, Conor Benn announced he was back and ready for big fights without a warm-up. Benn defeated Peter Dobson in Las Vegas in February, five months after outscoring Rodolfo Orozco in Orlando.

Most boxing fans had probably managed to make it through their entire lives without hearing about the drug clomifene. That all changed 15 months ago when news broke that Conor Benn had failed a Voluntary Anti-Doping Association (VADA) test for the banned substance.

Conor Benn landed on the opposite end of a drug testing scandal this time around. BoxingScene.com has learned that Mexico's Rodolfo Orozco was temporarily suspended by the Florida Boxing License Commission following a positive drug test produced surrounding his September 24 defeat to Benn. A sample collected by contracted testers returned an adverse finding for a banned substance.

Conor Benn bagged ten vital rounds in his return to the ring against tough Rodolfo Orozco in Orlando, Florida. Benn (22-0 14 KOs) showed little signs of ring rust as he tangled in the ring for the first time since April 2022, and landed heavy artillery on Orozco early, buckling the legs of the Mexican in the third round.

ORLANDO – Conor Benn ended the longest layoff and most troubling portion with a win over a game opponent. The second-generation English boxer pounded out a dominant ten-round, unanimous decision over a brave Rodolfo Orozco. Scores of 99-91, 99-91 and a surprisingly close 96-94 went in favor of Benn in just his second stateside fight in their DAZN-aired co-feature Saturday from Caribe Royale Orlando in Orlando, Florida.

ORLANDO – The world will get to know Rodolfo Orozco, one way or another, after this weekend. The obscure junior middleweight received an instant profile boost when he was tabbed as the opponent of choice for Conor Benn’s ring return. Most of the attention has been afforded the unbeaten Brit, who has been embroiled in an ongoing drug testing scandal which has caused in large part his seventeen-month ring absence.
