On Wednesday, Freddie Roach made headlines after taking a few shots at one of the sport's hottest names, former champion Brandon Rios.

Robert Garcia, trainer of Antonio Margarito, is very confident that everyone in New York's Madison Square Garden will witness the crowning of a new champion when his boxer defeats Miguel Cotto for the second time to capture the WBA junior middleweight title on Saturday night. Their first fight happened in July 2008 in the welterweight division. Margarito won the bout with an eleven round technical knockout.

By Ryan Burton WBA lightweight champion Brandon Rios has been training hard in Mexico getting ready for his December 3 title defense versus Britain's John Murray at Madison Square Garden. The fight takes place on the televised HBO pay-per-view undercard of the highly anticipated grudge rematch between Miguel Cotto and Antonio Margarito. Rios has been getting exposure on HBO's 24/7 series that chronicles the fighter's training camps leading up to their showdown, as he and Margarito are both trained by Robert Garcia. In an appearance on The Boxing Lab, Boxingscene.com's official audio show, Garcia said that Rios has been training hard and is in tremendous shape. He thinks his fighter will be too strong for Murray and that the fight doesn’t see the final bell.

In an earlier article on BoxingScene.com, WBA junior middleweight champion Miguel Cotto made it clear that he plans to target the surgically repaired right eye of Antonio Margarito. The two boxers have been on a roller coaster ride for the last few days, while the New York State Athletic Commission was deciding the fate of Margarito's application for a boxing license.

World class trainer Robert Garcia appeared on Tuesday's edition of The Boxing Lab, BoxingScene.com's official audio show. Garcia trains fighters such as Nonito Donaire, Brandon Rios and Mikey Garcia, in addition to Antonio Margarito - the main topic of discussion during this interview.

Donaire, the WBC/WBO bantamweight champion, is moving up to 122-pounds in early 2012, but he's already been discussing the big names at featherweight - like Gamboa and Juan Manuel Lopez.

Bill Emes catches up with trainer Robert Garcia to discuss Nonito Donaire's big win over Omar Narvaez, thoughts on the performance of both boxers and more.
