Robert Garcia readily admits that Errol Spence wasn’t his first choice to be his younger brother Mikey Garcia’s next opponent.

The four-division world champion has stated several times that he is taking the fight to enhance his legacy and is daring to be great.

After bouncing back and forth between the lightweight and super lightweight division the past few years, this will be Garcia’s first foray in the welterweight division.

Spence is known as the hardest puncher at 147 and is very big for the weight. The elder Garcia acknowledges Spence is a tough task but believes that he is beatable.

"Watching his fights, when a trainer sits down to work on an opponent it is different and not just in Errol Spence case, any other fighter..  All the fans , media. etc see a superstar knocking guys out, winning, looking good. When I sit down to study my opponents as a trainer I am looking for things that I need to do to beat him,” Robert told BoxingScene.com.

The trainer believes that even though there is an obvious size difference there are also similarities between the two fighters.

“Looking at Errol there are things we are going to make a difference when they fight. We know that it won't be easy. Errol is kind of similar to Mikey, pretty basic with a good solid jab and one-twos. He goes to the body beautifully. That is something I have always liked about him, he digs to the body. Those are things that are you know basic. He isn't flashy. He doesn't have spectacular footwork like other fighters do. He is basic but he does everything right and he is very strong,” said Garcia.

Spence-Garcia takes place March 16th at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas and will be distributed by Fox Pay-Per-View.
