Rahman Still Shocked By Fury: Wilder Can Make Adjustments and Win

On February 22nd Tyson Fury surprised many when he stopped former WBC heavyweight champion Deontay Wilder in 7 rounds at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas.

While many observers were split on who would win the fight, most people picking Fury expected him to win on points or by late round knockout.

Earlier this week BoxingScene.com caught up with former heavyweight champion Hasim Rahman to get his thoughts on the way the fight played out.

"I am still shocked. It was shocking. I would like to see the third fight," Rahman said in reference to Wilder exercising his rematch clause for a trilogy bout.

While Fury's win was dominate and convincing, Rahman believes that Wilder is capable of making the necessary adjustments to win a third installment.

A few days after the fight Wilder said that the heavy costume that he we wore for his ring walk had an effect on him and weakened his legs.  He also complained about the way referee Kenny Bayless handled the fight.

Rahman believes Wilder would be best served keeping quiet and focusing on correcting the mistakes in the fight.

"I just think as a champion Fury won. He was the better man. So come back and right the wrong. That is it it. There is nothing else to say. Y'all saw what y'all saw. Now you watch me go make my adjustments and see what I do. That's it," Rahman told BoxingScene.com.

Fury-Wilder 3 is expected to take place on July 18th at the MGM Grand Garden Arena.  An official announcement is expected in the coming weeks.
