Piotr Werner, the man in charge alongside Andrzej Wasilewski in BullIt Knockout Promotions, the biggest Polish promotional company, highly doubts that a possible heavyweight showdown will happen between division’s best and unified champion Wladimir Klitschko and local superstar Tomasz Adamek. He told about his misgivings in an interview with “Gazeta Krakowska”.

- What do you feel when you hear that Klitschko vs. Adamek is a 100% agreed upon for Wroclaw stadium?

- I don’t buy it. Recently I was sitting at the same table with Klitschko in Cardiff, Wales, and we have briefly discussed his future plans. Having been asked about Adamek, Klitshko said that Adamek is a hit-and-runner. Wladimir doesn’t like such fighters and he said he didn’t see any need in fighting those boxers who have to be chased around the ring.

- Sufficient money could change his point of view…

- Somebody would have to come with a corresponding offer at first. I have a feeling that Adamek is the center of big PR activities. Interest is being raised, quality opponents are named; then themes are carefully being changed and previous plans remain only in papers. It could be this sort of activity now.

- Adamek himself insists on the deal being almost done.

- This “almost” is what it's all about. In prize-fighting you cannot say the fight is on until both opponents are in the same ring at the same time.

- Maybe, you just feel vexatious that it wasn’t you, who has come out with such an idea, don’t you?

- No, I don’t. This point doesn’t play any role at all. Maybe, Americans got mixed up between Florida and Wroclaw? Maybe, they think the temperature is over 100 F after 10 PM in Poland when September is knocking at our doors? Yes, our autumn can be beautiful indeed. But there can also be thunderstorms, showers and flaws at the same time. Organizers can resolve it by covering an open arena in Wroclaw with a specific cloak. But it will cost the hundreds of thousands of dollars.
