MGM Grand Conference Center, Las Vegas - In a non-title fight at the super featherweight limit of 130-pounds, WBO featherweight world champion Shakur Stevenson (14-0, 8 KOs) took his time, punished and stopped Felix Caraballo (13-2-2, 9 KOs) in the sixth round. (photos by Mikey Williams)
Caraballo came out pressing the action in the first round. He was staying close and throwing shots at the body of Stevenson. Eventually Stevenson created some distance and started unloading with fast combinations as Caraballo tried to jump in. There was a flash knockdown scored when Caraballo appeared to slip.
Stevenson continued to unload on Caraballo as the second round started. Caraballo was stunned several times from the hard shots. In the third, Stevenson continued to be accurate, with punches connecting hard on Caraballo, who had no answers or adjustments.
Caraballo continued to come forward in the fifth. He was unable to get off with enough punches and was being tagged often. Not much of a change in the fifth, as the action slowed down a bit.
During the sixth round, Stevenson landed a hard shot to the body that dropped and stopped Caraballo.
