All three judges scored the contest 114-112.
A technical star in the first, with Love scoring a flash knockdown with a check hook at the end of the round. In the second, it was Valenzuela scoring a knockdown with a counter. Love wasn't too hurt and went right back to boxing.
The action really slowed down once the third round began, with the two boxers being cautious. The rounds were close and there were only a few punches being landed between them, round after round, with both just waiting for counters.
