The scores were 97-93 for Mayer, 96-95 for Baumgardner, and 96-95 for Baumgardner.
In a close first round, Baumgardner was boxing well. The face of Mayer was swelling around her left eye. Baumgardner continued to outbox and outland Mayer in the second. The third was a lot closer as Mayer was picking up the pace with her jab, but Baumgardner continued to land solid counters when Mayer would step in.
Mayer continued to pressure in the fourth, coming forward and started to land better punches. In the fifth, Mayer's pressure was allowing her to do a lot better with good connects on Baumgardner. A close sixth, with Mayer having a slight edge with better punches landing.
During the seventh, Baumgardner cut the right eyebrow of Mayer as she rallied with big punches to close the round. Baumgardner had a solid eight with power shots connecting more often throughout. In the ninth, Mayer was boxing and landing well off the jab from the inside. During the tenth and final round, it was close action. Both were jabbing well and picking their spots with power shots.
