Gurgen Hovhannisyan was thankful to leave the Caribe Royale Orlando resort on Friday with a victory over Patrick Mailata by majority decision scores of 76-76, 77-75, 77-75.

MVP announced today that “Most Valuable Prospects 10” will take place on December 13 at the Caribe Royale Resort.

Antonio Mireles experienced a series of firsts in his latest victory. The undefeated heavyweight survived a third-round knockdown to barely edge Patrick Mailata over six rounds. Judge Jerry Cantu (57-56) ruled in favor of Mailata, but was overruled by judges Dr. Lou Moret (57-56) and Steve Morrow (57-56) who scored the bout for Mireles in their ESPN-televised opener Saturday evening from Save Mart Arena in Fresno, California.

Jose Ramirez was in championship mode despite the absence of a major title at stake. The former unified junior welterweight champ was right at the 140-pound divisional limit for his crossroads bout with Richard Commey. Their scheduled 12-round bout headlines an ESPN tripleheader Saturday evening from Save Mart Arena in Fresno, California.

Kingsley Ibeh continues to thrive in The Bubble. The 26-year old full-time insurance salesman and now aspiring heavyweight earned his second win in seven days. The latest came in outpointing previously unbeaten Patrick Mailata over six rounds Thursday evening at MGM Grand Conference Center in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Jose Pedraza and Mikkel LesPierre have literally been here before. This time around, they hope to make it beyond the scale and into the ring. For the second time in two weeks, both boxers made weight for a scheduled ESPN headliner. The two are scheduled to collide atop a six-fight card, which takes place Thursday evening at MGM Grand Conference Center (“The Bubble”) in Las Vegas beginning at 8:00 p.m. ET/5:00 p.m. PT.

The main event will present an 8 round light heavyweight attraction between two battle-tested warriors when Dallas-Fort Worth born-and-bred boxer Samuel Clarkson (22-5, 15 KOs) challenges the Freddie Roach-trained Israel Duffus (19-6, 16 KOs).

Team Sauerland’s German contender and WBC International super welterweight champion Abass Baraou (6-0, 3 KOs) will fight on the international stage for the first time professionally at the ‘Rotunda Rumble’ in Caesars Palace Dubai on September 13.
