BoxingScene has confirmed that Carlos Canizales will risk his WBC 108lbs belt against former long-reigning strawweight titlist Thammanoon Niyomtrong.

Panya Pradabsri has reached a point where he feels there is nothing else to add to his impressive career

Carlos Canizales was determined to prevent Friday's fight from going to the scorecards, knocking out Panya Pradabsri in the fifth round to lift the WBC junior flyweight title.

Panya Pradabsri and Carlos Canizales checked in at the same weight for Friday’s WBC title fight sequel as they did when they squared off seven months ago.

Friday’s rematch between junior-flyweight titleholder Panya Pradabsri and Carlos Canizales has landed a broadcast partner in the United States, airing August 1 on ESPN Deportes starting at 11pm Eastern Time (4am BST).

The rematch between Panya Pradabsri and Carlos Canizales has reportedly been set for August 1 in Caracas.

Venezuela’s Carlos Canizales was another victim of boxing’s infinitely flawed scoring system when he was judged a loser in his fight with Panya Pradabsri for the vacant WBC light-flyweight title.

Yudai Shigeoka handled the rest from there and forever etched the family name in the boxing history books. The pair of Japanese southpaws became the first siblings in boxing history to win major titles in the same weight division on the same show. Yudai followed Ginjiro's IBF strawweight title winning pursuit with a twelve-round, unanimous decision win over Thailand's Panya Padrabsri in their WBC strawweight title consolidation bout. The elder Shigeoka won by scores of 119-109, 119-109 and 117-111 to claim the belt Saturday on ABEMA TV from Ota-City General Gymnasium in Tokyo.

Koki Kameda continues to make big moves on behalf of his fighters. BoxingScene.com has confirmed that Kameda Promotions has won the purse bid for the rescheduled Panya Pradabsri-Yudai Shigeoka WBC strawweight title consolidation bout. A winning bid of $213,000 outpaced Petchyindee Boxing Promotions, Pradabsri’s promoter who submitted $170,000 in an effort to bring the fight to the defending champion’s native Thailand.

Panya Pradabsri enjoyed his quickest title fight to date. The moment came in repeat business with Tokyo's Norihito Tanaka, whom the reigning WBC strawweight titlist stopped in the eighth round of their title fight rematch. Pradabsri floored Tanaka in the opening round and steadily picked him apart before the challenger's corner literally waved the towel to force the stoppage Wednesday in Rayong, Thailand.
