Paddy Donovan: record, next fight and profile →
Andy Lee has revealed legendary Top Rank promoter Bob Arum is fully invested in Paddy Donovan. The Limerick prospect makes his professional debut at the #MTKFightNight in Belfast on Friday night – live on ESPN+ in association with Top Rank and on iFL TV worldwide.
If not for a critical decision four years ago, 21-year-old "Marvelous" Mykquan Williams could very well be elite amateur training to compete for a spot on the 2020 USA Boxing Olympic Team, rather than the 15-0 rising star that he is today in professional boxing. Williams (15-0, 7 KOs), who lives in East Hartford (CT), has overcome life-altering obstacles in which his father was murdered when Mykquan was only eight months old, and the family house burned to the ground when he was 10.
One of Ireland’s premier amateurs, 20-year-old Paddy Donovan, has signed a multi-year professional contract with Top Rank. Donovan, a southpaw from Limerick, will turn pro later this year and compete as a welterweight. Managed and trained by former middleweight world champion Andy Lee, Donovan went 161-5 in the unpaid ranks and won 13 national titles in his homeland.
