Future opponents Brandon Rios (31-1-1, 23KOs) and Manny Pacquiao (54-5-2, 38KOs) appeared together on the popular sports program First Take, where the two fighters were hyping their anticipated fight on November 23rd at Cotai Arena in Macua, China.
During their joint interview, they started going back and forth on the subject of Floyd Mayweather Jr. (44-0, 26KOs). The two fighters began trading words when Rios was asked by one of the hosts - who wanted to get his opinion on whether or not Pacquiao, going back two years ago, was capable of beating Mayweather.
Rios: I still got to go with Floyd. Floyd is stil the man, he can still take two years off and come back and do his job.
Pacquiao: He's happy because he's cheering for FLoyd.
Rios: I'm not here with my pom poms going for Floyd, I'm just being honest.
Pacquiao: If you look at my style and [Floyd's] style, he has the advantage because he is running, running and not fighting.
Rios: When was the last fight you saw Floyd run? With Guerrero he stayed in the pocket. With Ortiz he didn't run, he stayed in the pocket. With Cotto he didn't run, and that was a great fight with him and Cotto - but he still didn't run. How many times have you seen Floyd beat up and bruised up? Only with Cotto I saw him a little.
