O’Shaquie Foster: record, next fight and profile →
This was the win that O’Shaquie Foster needed to prove that he’s the real deal. Chief among those he had to send that message—himself. The red-hot WBC junior lightweight titlist escaped a dangerous road assignment with his reign still intact after a come-
Snatching victory from the jaws of defeat never gets old. According to Showtime’s Steve Farhood on Twitter Monday, what O’Shaquie Foster did to post his first defense of the WBC 130-pound title was a little more special than that. According to Farhood, “There have been thousands of world title fights, but on Saturday night, O'Shaquie Foster became only the 14th fighter in a title fight to trail on points going into the last round and score a stoppage to win.”

Hernandez beat the count on each occasion but was left defenseless as referee Hector Afu stopped the fight at 2:38 of round twelve in their DAZN-aired title fight Saturday evening at Poliforum Benito Juarez in Cancun, Mexico.

The backdrop suggested a picturesque vacation destination, but O’Shaquie Foster and Eduardo ‘Rocky’ Hernandez were all business during their first meeting. A photo opportunity along the beach behind the Cancun Hotel Strip turned into a heated debate over who would leave
