Oscar De La Hoya: record, next fight and profile →
Golden Boy Promotions head Oscar De La Hoya offered a promising update Friday on the negotiations that are currently taking place for the potential pitting between Ryan Garcia and Gervonta Davis.
Oscar De La Hoya and Floyd Mayweather Jr. have been bitter rivals throughout their Hall of Fame careers, seemingly never pulling punches toward each other.
Oscar De La Hoya offered his latest entreaty to Gervonta Davis to fight his charge Ryan Garcia. The head of Golden Boy Promotions took to social media a couple of days after Garcia scored a sixth-round stoppage over Javier Fortuna in their 140-pound bout at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles. Garcia scored three knockdowns in a one-sided performance.
Oscar De La Hoya does not hold out much hope that his former charge Canelo Alvarez can defeat Dmitry Bivol in a rematch. The founder of Golden Boy Promotions, De La Hoya was asked during a press pool for the upcoming Ryan Garcia vs. Javier Fortuna lightweight bout in Los Angeles about whether or not he thinks Alvarez can be successful against Bivol in a second fight. Bivol defeated Alvarez by unanimous decision in May to retain his light heavyweight title
LOS ANGELES – Oscar De La Hoya hasn’t underestimated Javier Fortuna. “The Golden Boy” believes the strong southpaw will present legitimate danger for Ryan Garcia on Saturday night at Crypto.com Arena. If the heavily favored Garcia wins, De La Hoya anticipates a difficult fight of his own when he tries to make the high-profile fight Garcia wants most – a showdown with Gervonta Davis.
Golden Boy Promotions CEO Oscar De La Hoya, who promotes Gilberto Ramirez, has made it clear that his company will do everything possible to push through a mandatory fight with WBA light heavyweight champion Dmitry Bivol.
A top boxing executive at DAZN wants nothing to do with the often entertaining, if highly trivial, war of words between boxing’s top promoters.
Gilberto ‘Zurdo’ Ramirez finally feels he is at a place in his professional life where he can spend the rest of the career. More than a year has passed since the unbeaten Mexican southpaw signed with Golden Boy Promotions, having since scored three knockout wins and emerged as a top light heavyweight contender. Ramirez—a former WBO super middleweight titlist—aims to add a second divisional title later this year, with hopes of bringing home even more riches for his promoter.
Oscar De La Hoya has identified boxing powerbroker Al Haymon as the roadblock in securing blockbuster bouts for two of the biggest fighters in his promotional stable.
The Oscar De La Hoya that most of us are accustomed to see, is that of the smiling, charismatic, debonair, wondrously gifted fighter, who won a gold medal at the 1992 Barcelona Olympics, then embarking upon a dazzlingly brilliant pro career, conquering world championships in six weight divisions …The Golden Boy Poster Pinup, who`s since progressed into a very successful boxing promotions career.
