News: Soro vs. Vitu Set, Lejarraga To 154?, Goulamirian is Back

French Univent promotion will stage a doubleheader on November 15 at l´Accor Hotel Arena in Paris.

At super welterweight, Michel Soro (34-2-1) defends the WBA Gold title against Cedric Vitu (47-3) in an all French matchup. Vitu recently passed on a chance to fight for the EBU title in Spain against Sergio Garcia, to get this opportunity.

In the co-feature, WBA super champion at cruiserweight, Arsen Goulamirian (24-0), defends the title he didn´t win in the ring against Australian Kane Watts (21-3).

Goulamirian has in fact not fought for a year but it´s not due to any fault of his. First he was to fight Beibit Shumenov, but Don King Productions won the purse bids and then they was unable to stage the fight. Then a there was a showdown against then super-champion Denis Lebedev in the making but the Russian retired and thus Goulamiran went from interim-titleholder to super champ. Beibut Shumenov holds the WBAs' "regular" title.

What´s next for Spain´s Kerman Lejarraga? A move up to super welterweight appears to be the next step - but if he can make it back remains to be seen.

Lejarraga have suffered two heavy losses at the hands of David Avanesyan and Satirday´s first round stoppage loss was a tough one. Kermin was floored twice and showed poor punch resistance.

Many felt the referee moved in too soon but Lejarraga was visibly hurt and every punch Avanesyan landed seemed to stun him.

It will be former IBF 154 lb champ Kassim Ouma (29-13-1), now based in Amsterdam, the Netherlands, that takes on Ashley Theophane (47-8-1) on October 5 in Gilleleje, Denmark, on a Q Boxing promotion.

Ouma steps in for Kim Poulsen. Ouma was world champ 2004-05 and last challenged for a world title in 2011 when he lost to Gennady Golovkin.

Danish heavyweight Kem Ljungquist is now in Miami, Florida, sparring with Tyrone Spong as he prepares for his upcoming fight against Oleksandr Usyk October 12.

Kem was before that in Las Vegas helping Tyson Fury to get ready for Otto Wallin. The Dane is like Usyk and Wallin, tall and a southpaw and can fight a bit and there aren´t many of those. Kem is promoted by Team Sauerland. As for his next fight nothing is set.

Swedish super welterweight Ahmed Rossi (6-0) have signed up with Kynoch Boxing Team in Scotland. Rossi holds the national title but has like most fighters in Sweden a difficult time to get fights. When Rossi debutes for Kynoch isn´t announced yet.

Shumenov must really be paying WBA a LOT of money to still be considered a "champion" after going five years without fighting a warm body. Biggest fraud in boxing, which is saying a lot
