Former four division champion Erik Morales (52-8, 36KOs) says a lot is on the line when he faces WBC/WBA junior welterweight champion Danny Garcia (24-0, 15KOs) on October 20th at Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York. Garcia decisioned Morales, 36-years-old, after dropping him in the eleventh round back in March. Morales exercised a rematch clause to get Garcia back in the ring. Morales was out of shape for their March fight and for the first time in his long career he was unable to make weight.

WBC Light Welterweight champion Danny Garcia will be christening the new Barclays Center in Brooklyn, NY with its first boxing event October 20th. While the venue is new, his opponent will be a familiar one as he will be having a rematch with Mexican legend Erik “El Terrible” Morales in the main event. Their first fight earlier this year in Houston saw Garcia being too much for the Mexican veteran as he won a hard fought Unanimous Decision and became a world champion for the first time in his young career. While Garcia is confident he will once again be victorious, he will approach this rematch a little differently.
