Like so many fellow brave Ukrainians, Serhii “El Flaco” Bohachuk (20-1, 20 KOs) has returned home in defense of his country fighting alongside his compatriots against the Russian invasion, which has forced his withdrawal from a scheduled March 25th showdown with Canadian super welterweight Mikael Zewski (35-2, 23 KOs).

Canadian super welterweight Mikael Zewski (35-2, 23 KOs) wanted a tough challenge for his first professional boxing fight in his region of Mauricie and his wish will be granted.

Finally NABF champion and WBC # 1 contender Kim Clavel is back in a ring in Quebec for her first career fight at the IGA Stadium in Montreal on August 28th. The wait was long, the procedures laborious, the requirements numerous, but finally GYM received the approval of its sanitary protocol from both the Montreal Regional Public Health Direction and the Quebec Public Health Direction. GYM would like to thank Mr. Daniel Tierney and his DRSP team for their important collaboration.

It took more than a year to arrive at this point, but well worth the wait as Lithuania’s two-time Olympian and former welterweight title challenger scored an 8th round knockout of Quebec’s Mikael Zewski. Kavaliauskas, Zewski Scorecard BoxingScene Live - The Mean Machine is ready to rise again. Welterweight contender Egidijus “Mean Machine” Kavaliauskas, a two-time Lithuanian Olympian coming off a valiant effort last December against Terence “Bud” Crawford, will face NABO welterweight title-holder Mikael Zewski in a 10-rounder Saturday, Sept. 12 from the MGM Grand Conference Center. For as long as it takes for his next title shot to arrive—if ever again—Egidijus Kavaliauskas will have to live with the fact that he let a golden opportunity get away from him. The two-time Olympian from Kaunas, Lithuania has spent all of 2020 reflecting on the lone loss of his career, a 9th round stoppage at the hands of unbeaten welterweight titlist Terence Crawford (36-0, 27KOs). Kavaliauskas held his own early in their ESPN-televised title fight last December, even scoring a knockdown that was never officially scored. Crawford eventually seized control of the fight, twice dropping his unbeaten challenger before closing the show in round nine to defend his title for the third time.
