At "The Hangar" in Costa Mesa, California - Argenis Mendez (21-2, 11 KOs) made good on the opportunity to get revenge with a thrilling second round knockout of Juan Carlos Salgado (26-2-1, 16 KOs) to capture the IBF super featherweight championship. Mendez dropped Salgado in the first with a hard right and then drilled him hard with a left in the fourth for a big knockout win. Mendez Demolishes Salgado To Capture The IBF Crown
2012 Mexican Olympian Oscar Molina stopped Willie Walton in the second round of a scheduled four round bout. Molina (2-0, 1 KO) landed the more telling blows in the first round while the southpaw Walton bobbed and weaved in an attempt to avoid being punches. Molina dropped Walton with a counter right cross moments into the second round. Walton stood up but was met with a barrage of punches, prompting referee Thomas Taylor to stop the bout at 35 seconds.

The March 9 rematch between Juan Carlos Salgado and Argenis Mendez is confirmed for television coverage. In what capacity, remains largely open to debate. Televisa is on board to air the 130 lb. title fight, which takes place at the OC Hangar in Costa Mesa, California. The bout serves in supporting capacity to a heavyweight title eliminator between Chris Arreola and Bermane Stiverne. HBO cameras will be in the building for part of a split site tripleheader, which is headlined by Bernard Hopkins’ challenge of unbeaten light heavyweight titlist Tavoris Cloud. That bout takes place at Barclay’s Center in Brooklyn, New York.
