Tim Bradley says he is completely healed from the punishment he received from his March 16th unanimous decision victory Ruslan Provodnikov on March 16th. He said that he had plenty of time to recuperate between that fight and Saturday's showdown against Juan Manuel Marquez. "What happened in the Ruslan fight doesn't mean it is going to happen in this fight. It is a different fight. I was off for four months after the Ruslan fight. I was off four months completely. No lifting weights or running. They had me resting," Bradley explained.

By Robert Morales - Remember Freddie Roach's line prior to Manny Pacquiao's fourth fight with Juan Manuel Marquez? It was something like, "If Marquez's physique is natural, I'll kiss his ass." Then Marquez knocked Pacquiao cold on his face in the sixth round of that Dec. 8 fight at MGM Grand in Las Vegas, and the talk continued. Marquez was more muscle-bound than ever. He had, in his camp, admitted steroid distributor Angel Heredia/Hernandez, which did not help Marquez's cause. Which all begs the question: How will Marquez be remembered by fans once his fine career is over? Although it should, it doesn't seem to matter that Marquez has never had a dirty test for performance-enhancing drugs. Neither has Pacquiao, and there have been plenty of unsubstantiated rumors about him in this regard because of his run through eight weight classes.

Having come off of a thrilling, give-and-take battle with gritty Russian Ruslan Provodnikov this past March, there was much curiosity surrounding the return of WBO welterweight champion Tim Bradley. Set to face off with Mexico City’s Juan Manuel Marquez on Saturday night inside of the Thomas & Mack Center in Las Vegas on HBO pay per view, Bradley (30-0, 12 KO’s) admitted to having suffered a concussion during his brutal melee with Provodnikov and claimed to have balance issues in the aftermath of that encounter. Seeing his charge dive back into a full-fledged workout routine in early August inside of the Indio Boys and Girls Club in Southern California, trainer Joel Diaz could tell instantly that Bradley was far from his peak form.

Timothy Bradley will the first fighter to take a crack at Juan Manuel Marquez after he landed the shot heard around the world when he knocked out Manny Pacquiao in the 6th round of their fight last December. Bradley will need to be aware of Marquez’s potent right hand but instead of being worried about the punch landing, he’s actually looking forward to it. “Hell yeah. I can't wait until he lands that big shot and I don't go nowhere and I just eat that motherf***ker like argggh. I eat it and I don't go nowhere, then he knows he's in trouble” Bradley would tell BoxingScene. “You can't get in the pool without getting wet. You're going to get wet. He's going to land a shot on me and it's probably going to be a big shot and if I don't go anywhere man, the longer the fight go on, the more punishment I'm going to put on him.”

Joel Diaz didn’t like anything about Timothy Bradley’s brave performance against Ruslan Provodnikov, other than that Bradley won their spectacular slugfest. Bradley’s trainer considers his reckless strategy that night unnecessary and unhealthy, and Diaz doesn’t want Bradley to suffer from serious boxing-induced physical issues once the Palm Springs, Calif., native retires. But now that Bradley (30-0, 12 KOs, 1 NC) has completed an entire training camp for his WBO welterweight title defense against Mexican legend Juan Manuel Marquez (55-6-1, 40 KOs) on Saturday night in Las Vegas, Diaz is completely confident the Provodnikov fight hasn’t permanently damaged Bradley.
