Adam Kownacki was heavier for a fight than ever Friday afternoon. The undefeated heavyweight contender stepped on the New York State Athletic Commission’s scale at a career-high 266¼ pounds for his 12-round fight against Chris Arreola on Saturday night at Barclays Center in Brooklyn. The 30-year-old Kownacki’s previous high was the 264¼ pounds he weighed for a third-round technical knockout of Jesse Barboza in June 2016.
NEW YORK – If Canelo Alvarez eventually fights at light heavyweight, Marcus Browne doesn’t expect to appear on the Mexican superstar’s list of potential opponents. “Canelo don’t want this smoke, not this smoke,” Browne said following an open workout Wednesday at Gleason’s Gym in Brooklyn. Alvarez was willing recently to move up from middleweight to light heavyweight for his next fight for a shot at Sergey Kovalev’s WBO 175-pound championship. Negotiations didn’t result in a deal, though, and Alvarez’s handlers are attempting to finalize a deal for Alvarez (52-1-2, 35 KOs) to make a mandatory defense of his IBF middleweight title versus Ukraine’s Sergiy Derevyanchenko (13-1, 10 KOs).
Top rated light heavyweight Marcus Browne (23-0 16 KOs) let it be known that he plans on knocking former world champion Jean Pascal (33-6-1 20 KO 1NC) out, and quickly, when the two meet in the ring on Saturday night at Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York.

Physically pushing Marcus Browne wasn’t enough for Jean Pascal on Thursday. Pascal pushed Browne’s buttons, too. A few minutes after shoving his opponent on stage at Barclays Center, Pascal made matters as personal as possible during a press conference by referencing Browne’s four domestic violence-related incidents since December 2017. When Browne wouldn’t predict again that he’ll knock out Pascal on Saturday night, Pascal pulled a women’s wig out of a plastic bag and taunted the WBA interim light heavyweight champion.

The predictions are in from around the boxing world and the expert group that was polled is nearly split 50-50, but overall gives eight-division champion Senator Manny "Pacman" Pacquiao a slight edge over WBA Welterweight World Champion Keith "One Time" Thurman ahead of their Premier Boxing Champions on FOX Sports Pay-Per-View main event this Saturday from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas.
Undefeated WBA interim-champion Marcus Browne (23-0 16KO) let it be known that he plans on knocking out former world light heavyweight champion Jean Pascal (33-6-1 20 KO 1NC), and doing it in rapid fashion, when the two meet in the opening bout of a PBC on FOX tripleheader.
