Tamas Kiliti has replaced Marcos Villasana as Arthur Biyarslanov’s opponent at the Cabaret du Casino Montreal on Thursday night

Super lightweight contender Arthur “The Wolf” Biyarslanov has been matched with Mexican veteran Marcos Villasana on September 5.

Marcos Villasana Jr. displayed power, boxing, and determination, to achieve a well-deserved victory by unanimous decision over Daniel "Diablito" Espinosa in one of the co-main events that Bxstrs presented in Los Cabos, broadcast live by ESPN KnockOut.

The sons of two former Mexican world champions, the great Julio César Chávez Sr. and the pride of Acapulco, Marcos Villasana, will be in action this Friday, at the "Leonardo Gastélum" Auditorium in Los Cabos, as part of a card being staged by Bxstrs and presented internationally on ESPN KnockOut.

In an article published on BoxingScene.com earlier this week, Jake Donovan wrote that former two-time super middleweight champion David 'El Bandera Roja' Benavidez will return to the ring on a date in March.

It never bothered Michel Rivera that he had to train through his 22nd birthday for his biggest in-ring opportunity to date. Nor does he view the postponement of such a fight as time wasted in training camp. The unbeaten blue-chip lightweight prospect is among the many boxers to be left without a previously scheduled fight, as he was due to appear on the April 18 Showtime tripleheader from Phoenix, Arizona that was formally canceled on Monday in the wake of the ongoing coronavirus disease (COVID-19) pandemic. Rivera was set to face Mexico’s Marcos Villasana Jr. (25-6, 14KOs) in a 12-round bout that would have left the winner in prime position to challenge for a lightweight title later this year.

With shows being canceled at an alarming rate, there now stands the likelihood of a number of previously scheduled bouts not making the cut once the sport is able to resume at full strength. Included among that lot is the voluntary title defense planned by David Benavidez, who could be forced to enter straight into a mandatory title defense.

Undefeated WBC Super Middleweight World Champion Davíd "El Bandera Roja" Benavidez will defend his title on Saturday, April 18 in his hometown of Phoenix, Ariz. against former world title challenger Roamer Alexis Angulo, live on SHOWTIME from Arizona Federal Theatre headlining a Premier Boxing Champions event.

Fringe lightweight contender Marcos Villasana won a 12 round split decision over Pablo Vicente Saturday night at the Centro de Convenciones Azul in Ixtapa Zihuatanejo, Guerrero, Mexico.

Marcos Villasana Jr., from Acapulco, retained the WBC International lightweight belt on Saturday night, with a sensational victory at the Oasis Arena Cancun, when he handed down a nine-round technical knockout over dangerous contender Jose Felix Jr.
