BoxingScene.com's Bill Emes reported Saturday that Paulie Malignaggi was taken to a local hospital after his fourth-round KO defeat to Shawn Porter.

It now appears that Malignaggi is OK and that the trip to the hospital was merely precautionary.

"The latest on @PaulMalignaggi is he is being released from the hospital shortly," Malignaggi's broadcast partner Mauro Ranallo tweeted from his verified account Sunday morning. CAT scans were clean, and all other tests were normal."

It seems Malignaggi should be fine for Showtime broadcast duties next Saturday in Carson, Calif., for a tripleheader headlined by Keith Thurman-Julio Diaz.
