Unbeaten heavyweight contender Magomed Abdusalamov will now work with trainer John David Jackson, promoter/ advisor Sampson Lewkowicz told Boxingscene.com Wednesday evening.

Abdusalamov (18-0, 18 KOs) had recently been working with trainer Danny Garcia in Ventura, CA. Abdusalamov had been residing in the Oxnard area.

Lewkowicz also said the Russian-born Abdusalamov might return to the ring in October, but nothing is set.

In his last fight on April 27th in Buenos Aires, Abdusalamov dropped Sebastian Ceballos three times en route to a first round technical knockout.

A former world champion, Jackson currently trains Sergey Kovalev and Dyah Ali Davis. The Florida-based trainer has also worked with Shane Mosley, Bernard Hopkins, and Nate Campbell.
