On Saturday night at Matchroom's Fight Camp in Brentwood, Chris Kongo clinically dispatched Luther Clay in the ninth round of their WBO Global welterweight title battle.

Chris Kongo delivered a largely faultless display on his biggest night so far as he stopped Luther Clay in their welterweight ten-rounder on the Matchroom Fight Camp show in Essex. The end came with 16 seconds left in the ninth round, when Clay slumped to the floor, exhausted, after Kongo had repelled his best efforts.

Dillian Whyte was significantly lighter Friday for his fight against Alexander Povetkin than he weighed for his victory over Mariusz Wach. London’s Whyte stepped on the British Boxing Board of Control’s scale at 252.6 pounds, a sure sign that he is taking the former WBA heavyweight champion as a serious threat.

Luther Clay has warned Chris Kongo that he will be looking to end their WBO Global Welterweight Title fight early when they clash on the undercard of Dillian Whyte vs. Alexander Povetkin at Matchroom Fight Camp this Saturday August 22, live on Sky Sports Box Office in the UK and DAZN in the US.

Chris Kongo is planning on announcing himself as one of the best Welterweights in the country when he takes on Luther Clay for the WBO Global Title on the undercard of Dillian Whyte vs. Alexander Povetkin on the final week of Matchroom Fight Camp this Saturday August 22, live on Sky Sports Box Office.

Eddie Hearn and Matchroom are delighted to announce the full schedule for Fight Camp – an unrivalled summer of elite boxing based at the Matchroom HQ in Brentwood, Essex with the first three weeks shown live on Sky Sports in the UK and DAZN in the US – and the final week shown live on Sky Sports Box Office.

Dillian Whyte’s interim WBC heavyweight title clash with Alexander Povetkin looks likely to go ahead on August 15 in the grounds of Matchroom’s headquarters in Essex after the Manchester show that was to have included it was formally cancelled.

Richard Riakporhe says he is in no rush to continue the rate of his rapid rise after claiming the British cruiserweight title in only his eleventh professional fight. The 29-year-old South Londoner won the vacant British title with a unanimous points decision over Jack Massey after a scrappy, mauling 12 rounds at York Hall, East London.

Sam Eggington breathed life back into his career as he handed out a two-round beating to Orlando Fiordigiglio in Florence, Italy, on Thursday night. The 35-year-old Italian went into the fight ranked No 5 by the IBF at super-welterweight, as well as holding rankings of 15 with the WBC and 14 with the WBO, but could not cope with Eggington’s walk-forward aggressive style.
