Luis Arias wants to make Gabriel Rosado eat his words and prove he’s not a ‘bitch’ by beating him in a Middleweight war at the Kansas Star Arena in Mulvane, KS on Saturday night, live on DAZN. Arias is back in action for the first time since losing out on points to Daniel Jacobs in New York last November, siting a huge blister as the cause of him having to adopt a defensive approach against the now-IBF World champion who handed him a first career loss in his 19th fight.
A crossroads middleweight scrap was announced this past Saturday, and takes place on November 17th at the Kansas Star Arena and Casino in Mulvane, Kansas. The bout will be streamed live on DAZN. Luis Arias (18-1, 9KOs) is back in action, attempting to jump start his career after suffering his first career defeat. NEW YORK – Maciej Sulecki stood in the same room Tuesday where Luis Arias began trashing Daniel Jacobs a few months ago. That, according to Sulecki, is the only thing those two middleweights have in common. The undefeated contender from Poland promised to do his talking in the ring, where he intends to test Jacobs the way Arias assured everyone he would, only to lose a one-sided decision November 11.
Ratings for HBO’s “World Championship Boxing” tripleheader Saturday night reflected direct boxing competition on ESPN. According to ratings released Tuesday by Nielsen Media Research, Daniel Jacobs’ easy victory Luis Arias drew a peak audience of 765,000 viewers and averaged 706,000. Milwaukee’s Arias (18-1, 9 KOs) wasn’t willing to engage during much of his 12-round defeat to Brooklyn’s Jacobs (33-2, 29 KOs), the best opponent of his five-year pro career.
Daniel Jacobs’ manager has refuted trainer John David Jackson’s claims that Jacobs weighed “180, 185” pounds and as a cruiserweight had an unfair advantage over Luis Arias in their middleweight fight Saturday night. Keith Connolly, Jacobs’ manager, took issue with Jackson’s comments following Jacobs’ easy unanimous-decision victory over Arias in their 12-round fight (https://www.boxingscene.com/jackson-jacobs-cruiserweight-an-unfair-advantage--122387). HBO televised Jacobs-Arias as the main event of a “World Championship Boxing” tripleheader from Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum, but Jacobs out-classed Arias in what was a significant step up in competition for the middleweight from Milwaukee.
UNIONDALE, New York – Luis Arias admitted Daniel Jacobs’ speed, strength and intelligence gave him plenty of problems Saturday night. But according to the Milwaukee middleweight, his biggest problem was his right foot. Arias limped into their post-fight press conference early Sunday morning, detailed how a blister began forming on the sole of his right foot during the second round and contended it kept him from performing up to his capabilities in his HBO debut.
