Amari Jones, who stopped the durable Luis Arias last Saturday, is planning for a big year ahead, with ambitions of fighting in a step-up bout soon.

Bektemir Melikuziev seventh-round TKO over Ghana’s Sena Agbeko on Saturday in Las Vegas put him a step closer to supplanting the super middleweight division's old guard.

Ryan Garcia weighed in at a drama-free 146.5lbs for Saturday night’s WBC welterweight title fight versus belt holder Mario Barrios, who checked in at 147.0lbs.

Arias is coming off a loss to Eric Priest and also preparing for a career outside of the sport.

Jimuel Pacquiao, the oldest son of Hall of Famer Manny Pacquiao, will make his pro debut November 29 in Temecula, California, as part of Manny Pacquiao Promotions' US debut.

Skills and wit have never been the first attributes that come to mind when discussing the career of Luis Arias. Grit, determination, and a never say die attitude is more apropos. Arias, however, doesn't believe that any of those attributes were given a chance to shine this Saturday night against Erickson Lubin.

Erickson “Hammer” Lubin (25-2) shined against Luis “Cuba” Arias (20-4-1) in his first fight since his knockout loss to Sebastian Fundora 14 months ago.

The Armory in Minneapolis - Super welterweight contender Erickson “Hammer” Lubin (25-2, 18 KOs) dropped and stopped Luis “Cuba” Arias (20-4-1, 9 KOs) in the fifth-round of their scheduled 10-round showdown.

Erickson Lubin disproved Luis Arias’ contention that the junior middleweight contender is damaged goods. Lubin, in his first fight in 14 months, became the first fighter to stop Arias after dropping Arias with just over a minute to go in the fifth round of their 10-round, 157-pound bout at The Armory in Minneapolis. Arias clearly beat referee Zac Young’s count, but Young stopped their fight anyway on the Carlos Adames-Julian Williams undercard.
