Lewis Crocker and Paddy Donovan previously met for the right to fight for a major title. That very belt will be on the line for their anticipated rematch.

Undefeated Welshman Lewis Rees (9-0-1, 5 KOs) suffered the first blemish of his short career, being held to a draw by an unheralded but very spirited Frenchman Renald Garrido (11-7-1, 2 KOs). Garrido, though shorter of the two, was also more aggressive and active, pressing Rees around the ring. His punches were mostly too wide and had little power in them and landed on Rees' shoulders and gloves. Rees was more subtle in his actions but failed in punch output. BoxingScene also scored it a draw: 76-76.

Motorpoint Arena, Cardiff, Wales - In a career defining performance, Sergey Kovalev (22-0-1, 20KOs) stopped previously undefeated Nathan Cleverly (26-1, 12KOs) in four rounds to capture the WBO light heavyweight crown Kovalev, who knocked out most of his opponents within three rounds, came out throwing heavy shots in the first round. Kovalev hurt Cleverly badly in the third round, dropping him twice and nearly finishing him off. Kovalev picked things right back up in the fourth, throwing bombs to send Cleverly down for a third time and the referee waved things off.

A trio of hot Welsh prospects feature on Nathan Cleverly's world title undercard next month, aiming to prove that they are future world champions in the making.

Whilst the fighting Smith brothers made all the headlines last weekend – both positive and negative – after Saturday’s show at Liverpool’s Olympia, the undercard played host to a number of promising fighters and allowed a couple of the cities youngsters to continue their education.

O2 Arena, London, England - Paul Smith (30-2, 16KOs), now campaigning as a middleweight, returned to stop Jozsef Matolcsi (29-16) in the first round of action. Smith back for the first time since last December's crushing TKO defeat to James DeGale. ---------------------
