Lee McGregor has turned professional.

McGregor is rated as his country’s hottest prospect and is determined to prove it in the paid ranks after turning his back on the GB setup and going over under Barry McGuigan.

He will make his debut after ditching the headguard and vest on November 11, exclusively live on Spike TV.

“I’ve been training in London for five weeks,” McGregor said at the press conference to announce his arrival into the paid code in Edinburgh on Monday. “I’ve progressed so much and I’m punching so much harder already under Shane [McGuigan].

“I’d fight anyone right now because I fear no fighter, but I know my team will guide me well and push me towards becoming world champion.”

Josh Taylor tops the bill, at the Royal Highland Centre in Edinburgh, in a defence of his WBC Silver super-lightweight title against ex-IBF lightweight king Miguel Vazquez of Guadalajara, Mexico.

The show, overseen by the aforementioned former world champion McGuigan, is expected to be a big hit.

And he feels that, just like the show, McGregor will turn out to be just that.

“Lee only had 45 amateur fights and achieved so much,” said McGuigan. “This is only the beginning –– this kid is perfect for the pro game.”

Jason Easton will make the first defence of his IBO Inter-Continental super-lightweight crown against Czech champ Josef Zahradnik, while Chris Billam-Smith fights for the third time as a professional.

Meanwhile, former Team GB star Chantelle Cameron will fight for a title, as previously reported by Boxing Scene, in just her fourth fight as a pro.

The Northampton fighter is set to take on Edith Ramos for the vacant IBO Inter-Continental female lightweight title and will be joined by heavyweight Martin Bakole Ilunga who takes on Ali Baghouz for the vacant IBO Continental heavyweight crown.
