HBO has had three of it's more popular fighters, Miguel Cotto, Saul "Canelo" Alvarez, and Gennady "GGG" Golovkin win by knockout in the past two months.

Cotto knocked out Daniel Geale in four rounds. Golovkin stopped Willie Monroe Jr. in six rounds. And right before those two bouts took place, Canelo dispatched James Kirkland in three.

A mix and match of those three fighters is what the network desires and more importantly what the fans want.

The network's unofficial judge, Harold Lederman, sees  Cotto vs. Canelo happening next and favors the young Mexican superstar.

“Cotto will definitely fight Canelo next,” Lederman told BoxingScene.com. “I think it’ll be a hell of a fight. Canelo is probably the favorite but I think Cotto will be competitive. Canelo’s a hell of a fighter. He’s 24 years old, and a strong kid.”

The winner will most likely have to face Golovkin, as he is the mandatory challenger to Cotto’s WBC Middleweight title. Lederman feels neither Cotto or Canelo or anyone at 160 for that matter could beat Triple G. The fight for Golovkin, according to the former judge, is at 168 against Carl Froch.

“GGG is great against anybody,” Lederman said. “I don’t think either (Cotto or Canelo) have a shot at 160 against Golovkin. I think he’ll go to 168 and fight Froch in my opinion. I hope Carl Froch wants to fight, I don’t know.”
