British star Amir Khan is confident that his former rival, Marcos Maidana (35-4, 31KOs), will bounce right back after losing two consecutive fights to WBC/WBA welterweight and junior middleweight champion Floyd Mayweather Jr.

In a tough fight, Khan won a twelve round unanimous decision over Maidana in 2010. Maidana bounced back, winning fights over Erik Morales and Petr Petrov. But then he was dominated over ten rounds by Devon Alexander in 2012. Once again, Maidana bounced back and picked up wins over Angel Martinez, Jesus Soto Karass, Josesito Lopez and a highly publicized victory over Adrien Broner.

When Maidana returns in 2015, Khan expects him to bounce back once again.

"Maidana fought a great fight [with Mayweather] and he was throwing a lot of punches. He was throwing a lot of shots, but Mayweather was blocking a lot. But still Maidana put on a great performance. He is a very strong and very aggressive. Maidana is still a good name. He's been beaten a couple of times in his career - but Maidana is a fighter, a true tough guy and you can never take that away from him. Being a fighter, you lose but it's how you come back. And I think Maidnaa will come back like when he beat Broner. I think Maidana will do good when he comes back," Khan said.
