Eddie Hearn, promoter for former IBF welterweight world champion Kell Brook (37-2, 26 KOs), has announced that his boxer will return on December 8th in Sheffield.

Back in March, Brook made his junior middleweight debut when he blew away Sergey Rabchenko in two rounds at Sheffield Arena. The victory was his first in nearly two years, after suffering back to back knockout defeats.

He was stopped by Errol Spence in eleven rounds in May of 2017, and before that he was put away in five rounds by then unified middleweight champion Gennady Golovkin.

He was scheduled to come back a few months ago, but suffered an ankle injury in training camp and was forced to withdraw.

The fight Brook is looking for, is a showdown with domestic rival Amir Khan.

"I am back at the Sheffield Arena and back on Sky Sports," Brook exclusively told Sky Sports.

"I was ringside for Amir Khan's last fight, so let's see if he'll be there on December 8, or will he be too shook for Brook? Wherever he is, he'd better be watching. 'The Special One' is back!"

Brook was ringside last month, watching Khan have his share of struggles in winning a twelve round decision over Samuel Vargas. Khan was dropped in the fight and hurt on more than one occasion.

The bout with Khan is viewed on paper as being easier to make - after Khan signed a multi-fight deal with Hearn at the start of the year.

Khan and Brook have been trading verbal shows over the planned fight for the last few weeks. Khan wants the fight to take place at welterweight, which Brook has no problem with. But the two sides have been differing on the idea of a rehydration clause. Brook is not in favor of a 10-pound rehydration clause, which is something Khan wants in place for the contest.
