At the Hillsborough Leisure Centre in Sheffield, Kell Brook (24-0, 16KOs) won a dominating twelve round unanimous decision over tough veteran Lovemore Ndou (48-13-2, 31KOs) to capture the vacant WBA Inter-Continental welterweight title. The scores were 118-111, 119-110 and 119-110.

Brook and Ndou started off with calculated punches. Brook was more accurate and landing more power punches. In the second, Brook started throwing hard combinations when he backed Ndou against the ropes. Ndou with a few good shots in the final ten seconds. The action heated up in the third with both boxers trading good punches.

There were exchanging some hard punches in the fourth and Ndou at times was getting the better of the trades. Ndou looked a little stunned at the end but came out throwing big shots at the start of the fifth. They were trading punches at a heavy pace. Brook was going for the knockout win in the sixth. Ndou was tired and Brook was really pouring on the punches with combinations and uppercuts. Ndou was in bad shape when the round closed.

Ndou was able to survive the seventh and eight rounds because Brook backed off a little and started pacing himself to avoid possible exhaustion at the end. Ndou started a minor rally in the final minute of the ninth round. At this point, Brook was a little tired from the high pace of the fight.

In the tenth, Ndou was switching from southpaw to orthodox. Brook caught him with a big uppercut in the tenth and started punishing Ndou against the ropes. He once again went for the knockout. Iron-chinned Ndou refused to go down and was firing back with punches. Brook went back to work in the eleventh and stunned Ndou at the end.

The twelfth and final round started quick. Brook went after Ndou with hard punches, trying to stop his opponent. Ndou was doing everything possible to survive. He was holding on and running out the clock as Brook was hitting him with punches to the head and body.
