Undisputed Promotions has announced a crossroads fight between undefeated Joseph Adorno (14-0-12 KOs) and Iron Alvarez (14-1-10 KOs), a tough Cuban boxer from Tampa, Florida.

Joseph Adorno just wasn’t meant to fight in Las Vegas. The unbeaten lightweight prospect will no longer appear on Friday’s ESPN+ show from Virgin Hotels Las Vegas, Top Rank officials confirmed to BoxingScene.com. Adorno was pulled from the show sometime after missing weight by more than two pounds for a planned eight-round bout with Argentina’s Elias Damian Araujo.

Mikaela Mayer and Maiva Hamadouche are set for the first step towards crowning an undisputed champion. The pair of junior lightweight titlists both made weight for their WBO/IBF title unification bout Friday evening at Virgin Hotels Las Vegas. Mayer checked in at a fighting fit 129.6 pounds, while Hamadouche was well within the limit at 128.6 pounds for her U.S. debut.

Junior lightweights Luis Melendez and Thomas Mattice stayed ready. The contenders, on less than two weeks’ notice, agreed to face off Friday, Nov. 5 in the eight-round co-feature to the Mikaela Mayer-Maiva Hamadouche title unification tilt at The Theater at Virgin Hotels Las Vegas, part of Curio Collection by Hilton.

Despite a draw with unbeaten Joseph “Blessed Hands” Adorno (14-0-2, 12 KOs) last Saturday night in Kissimmee, Florida, lightweight prospect Jamaine “The Technician” Ortiz (14-0-1, 8 KOs) displayed his vast skills and courage on ESPN+.

Joseph Adorno and Jamaine Ortiz went well beyond their pre-fight vow to steal the show. The unbeaten lightweights waged war for eight rounds, with a winner being the only thing missing in the end as they fought to an eight-round majority draw Saturday evening in front of a sellout crowd at Silver Spurs Arena in Kissimmee, Florida.

Nobody would have blamed Joseph Adorno had he chosen to go any other route this weekend. The unbeaten lightweight prospect has not fought in more than 15 months and barely escaped with a draw on that occasion. Two fights have fallen through since then, each time met with the demand to line up another, no matter how tough.

Emanuel Navarrete and Christopher ‘Pitufo’ Diaz are set for the next entry of boxing’s rich in-ring rivalry between Mexico and Puerto Rico on the title stage.

Rocky Gonzalez, the head trainer for undefeated lightweight prospect Jamaine “The Technician” Ortiz (14-0, 8 KOs) is confident that, despite the obvious risk, his boxer is ready for unbeaten Joseph “Blessed Hands” Adorno (14-0-1, 12 KOs) this Saturday night (Apr. 24) at Silver Spurs Arena in Kissimmee, Florida.

Rarely do undefeated prospects with double-digit victories fight each other because of the perceived risk like lightweights Jamaine “The Technician” Ortiz (14-0, 8 KOs) and Joseph “Blessed Hands” Adorno (14-0-1, 12 KOs) will do this Saturday night, April 24th, at Silver Spurs Arena in Kissimmee, Florida.
